My Sweet Man and I recently finished the book of Daniel. Grab your Bible, journal, pen, a cup of coffee, and join me as I share my observations with you.
First, a disclaimer:
I am not a Bible scholar. I’m simply a woman in love with Jesus and the Word of God. I want the same for you.
Are you with me?
Observations from Daniel, chapter twelve, inform us as to our responsibilities as believers today, particularly for such a time as this.
Daniel’s prophetic word has to do with the Jewish people in the end times.
However, there is encouragement for all of God’s people in every generation. Through His Word, we see that God is always in control and will accomplish His purposes despite the evil in our world. Today, more so than ever, I need to know this. We need to know this.
God’s people will be delivered.
“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.” Daniel 12:1 (NIV)
God assures us of life everlasting with Him in eternity when we believe. God’s people will be delivered.
Warren Wiersbe says this:
“God assures Daniel that the living believers will be delivered and the ones who die will be resurrected to shine in glory.” (Danel 12:2)
These observations from Daniel, chapter twelve convict and instruct us on how we are to live in these confusing days.
What then are our responsibilities today, as we reflect on Daniel, chapter twelve?
- Proclaim the Gospel.
“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” Daniel 12:3 (NIV)
- Grow in holiness.
“Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined” Daniel 12:10
Furthermore, we remain faithful and steadfast in the Gospel.
“Continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard” Colossians 1:23
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13
“Continue steadfastly in prayer.” Colossians 4:2
Above all, no matter what kind of affliction or tribulation God permits us to experience, He is still in control.
I cannot begin to make sense of what’s happening in our world today, but this I know, God is in control.
When everything else feels chaotic, God is in control.
He is in control amid unrest and destruction.
No matter the chaos, affliction, destruction, and unrest, we are to remain steadfast and faithful.
We are to proclaim the Gospel, grow in holiness, and be diligent in prayer.
Our observations from Daniel, chapter twelve convict and instruct us on how we are to live in these confusing days.
How will you respond in this season? Above all, how will we as a church respond?

“There is no space to live well or love well, much less pursue the God who created us to be in fellowship with Him. We close the gap between what we need and what we want with more. Our spinning lives and broken hearts are empty while appearing full. We paste a smile on our face and tell anyone who asks we are okay while inside we are shattering a million different ways.” -Mornings In The Word
