Reflections from days passed opens our eyes to God’s faithfulness, giving us hope for the days ahead.

Dearest Reader,

Coffee and Reflections is a newish monthly post that will come near the end of each month. Sort of a catch-all of the grace in my ordinary moments living well with Chronic Illness. I do hope you will join me.

The last day of March found us waiting in the in-between. The in-between of dark Friday, a wooden cross, our Savior hanging, nails piercing his hands. The in-between of death and darkness before Resurrection Sunday.

I can relate to the in-between, the uncertainty and fear, the unanswered questions, and desperate pleas. Can you?

I am sitting exactly there at this moment; my medication tweaked with the hope of a better long-term outcome. Meanwhile, my body is wrecked by the side effects as I adjust. It’s a slow process, trying my patience. Today it feels as if I have taken three steps backward while I fight to thrive and not merely survive.

It’s precisely at this moment where I can look back on the days passed and see a good, good Father wrapping me in His mercy and grace.

Gifts of Grace

  • A day with a precious Sister in Christ, combing through The Vintage Warehouse, talking long into the afternoon.
  • A quaint coffee shop with books decorating the wall.
  • Warm chocolate chip cookies.
  • Reading the Bible with my Sweet Man and listening to his prayers.
  • Grace came through Easter lunch with precious friends sharing life and laughter.
  • Bird feeders hang attracting birds singing their songs.
  • Bees began to buzz over long-awaited Spring blooms.
  • Wisteria blooms.
  • Days sprinkled with sunshine and warmth.
  • A short walk to the end of the block with dearest friends.
  • Gifting a friend with three pounds of M&M’s with peanuts and a signed copy of Mornings In The Word.
  • Mornings In The Word made its way to Amazon and into the hands of readers.
  • Being chosen as the featured writer here. While you are there grab the free goodies, Jennifer Dukes Lee is offering.

Dearest Reader, do you take time to reflect on the goodness gifted from Above? I pray you are. Might a suggest a small journal where you can list your Gifts of Grace. This daily discipline carries me through my hard days, opening my eyes to see a faithful God.
