“Spring is the river that bubbles up in the wilderness. It is the river that flows in so many corners of my ever-shifting, always changing life.”
Christie Purifoy from Roots & Sky
I wanted to drop in, share a bit of life with you.
We traveled to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia this past Sunday. Sat in the pew with my Mom and Pops, the same pew, my Sweet Man and I occupied for a season. Heard words that have lingered deep in my soul for days.
We celebrated a bride to be. Belly laughed at all the stories told from what seemed like the golden days. The same stories pulled out at every family gathering. It was a sweet time.
A sweet time that reminds me, these are the days.
I am in full “Nanna Camp” mode this week. Stealing kisses, washing dirty hands, serving snacks, and more snacks, listening to the patter of six extra feet. Giving hugs, combing through tangles, and buying loads of ice cream.
The little ones are taking their job of filling up bird feeders very seriously. Watching in amazement as feathered friends make short work of their efforts.
Fingerprints and crumbs, giggles and chatter. The sweet times captivate me.
These days will pass in a blur, and when they do I hope sweet memories will be carried in their hearts.
Until, then, I am practicing presence. Belly laughing and loving.
Yes, these are the days.
This is the river that bubbles up in the wilderness!
