IMG_0682“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” Hebrews 4:12-13 nlt

Our innermost thoughts and desires exposed. Naked. Laid bare. For all the world to see.

Or worse, lying just under the surface. Hiding. Simmering beneath the public facade we put on. Behind our Facebook posts. Our Pinterest page. Our Instagram account.

The places where we put our problem free, picture perfect, “I’ve got it together” life.

Hidden between the pages of our Bibles as we sit on our favorite pew.

Where we “wear” church. Perform our duties. Check off the check list.

Our ugliness. Our pain. Our disappointments. Hurts and heartaches.

Hopes and dreams we may have given up on.

Bubbling just beneath the surface of who we really are and who we desire to be.

If we spilled it all out for others to see, we’d be embarrassed. We’d feel naked. Exposed.

We’d be backpedaling, hoping to stuff it all back in before someone notices. Someone sees.

Yet nothing is hidden from God.

For all our striving, all our doing, all our trying, all of our hiding, our editing. Nothing. Surprises. God.

“Oh Lord you have examined my heart and you know everything about me.” Psalm 139:1nlt

He knows us inside and out, and yet He still loves us.

Still loves us.

Bestows grace.

Pursues us.

Forgives.

“…I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” Jeremiah 31:3 nlt

Somewhere in the middle of it all lies our authenticity. Our realness.

Transparency.

When we allow others to see our messed up, broken selves. Where we’ve been. Where He has brought us.

Share our story.

Quit playing church and be the Church.

We witness. We give hope. We share The Light.

We pour out Living Water to the thirsty.

The parched. The weary. The broken.

We become less and He becomes greater. (John 3:30)

When we are real and we share Jesus in our realness others can see Him. Find Him. Will long for Him.

Share your story.

Share life~real life.

Be a witness.

Witness.

Time is running out.

Graced by God
